THIS PRIVACY POLICY APPLIES TO OUR SITES AND APPS AND OFFLINE ACTIVITIES.

This includes Petfinder.com. “You” refers to any person accessing and/or using these Services.

This policy applies to our consumer interactions. It does not apply to information collected throughout the application, hiring, or employment process. It does not apply to information collected by our parent company or affiliate companies.

WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM AND ABOUT YOU

Account Log-In Information. You may be required to provide information in order to set up an account with us.  We also collect information needed to give you access to your account. This includes your login ID/email address, screen name, and/or password.

We collect information about your pets and pet preferences. We may also collect this information when you purchase pet care products from one of our online stores. For example, we might ask what kind of pet you have or the type of pet food you prefer. We collect pet photos you upload to our web sites.

We also collect information if you sign up for newsletters, make an online purchase, or request a coupon. We will share information with our partners, affiliates, and other third parties.  We do this in order to provide you with product, pet adoption, or promotional information. This may include pet adoption organizations to help with an adoption and companies you ask us to share your information with and others. This information may be used by third parties for their own purposes. This may include offers for products or services that may interest you. We may also share anonymous information with third parties for their marketing or analytics uses..

We will share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves. For example, we will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests it. We might also share information when we are investigating potential fraud, claim or dispute against or for us. This might include fraud we think has happened during a sweepstakes or promotion..

We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business is sold or transferred to a third party, we may give our customer information as part of that transaction.

These may include responses to your questions or information about your account, purchases, confirmation of a pet adoption inquiry, or other messages we think you need to know.

You can edit information we maintain. To update or correct information we have about you, please contact our Office of Consumer Affairs stating that you want to correct or update your information. Some of our sites may also let you modify your account profile directly.

You can control if we share information with third parties for their marketing purposes. To opt out of having us sharing your information with third parties for their promotional purposes, contact our Office of Consumer Affairs and tell us this. . 

You can learn how to control the information shared by social platforms and other third parties by visiting the website of the relevant social platform or contacting the third parties. For example, to control the use of your information by third parties such as adoption shelters, you will need to contact those third parties directly.

 

 

THESE SITES AND CHILDREN.

Protecting children’s privacy is important to us. We do not direct the Services to, or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from, children under the age of 13 without permission from a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child has given us information, you can email us. You can also write to us at the address listed at the end of this policy. Please mark your inquiries “COPPA Information Request.”

WE USE STANDARD SECURITY MEASURES.
